Learning for transformation
Learning for transformation
Peaks and waves is a learning consultancy rooted in the belief that learning is a key element of transforming ourselves and our organisations.
We are all learning all the time. If you know what you want yourself or others to learn, or have a learning enquiry that you want to explore, we help you figure out how.
We work with you to co-create learning journeys that focus on transformation.
A learning journey can take many forms, from an individuals learning and development plan, to whole organisational change projects. It could be a training programme for volunteers, wrap around support for grant recipients, a team retreat, or any other space where the goal is that an individual or group of people come away with new ideas, understanding or skills.
Our Practice
We believe in the power of learning. To truly work toward a world of liberation for all we need people, organisations and systems to transform. We believe learning is a crucial part of this. All our learning experiences support this transformation.
We see learning as a tool for liberation. But it can only be that if the practices and pedagogy we use are designed in a liberatory way. Too often in life learning experiences actually work to compound experiences of oppression. All our learning experiences are designed using a pedagogy that works towards liberation. Rooted in the work of critical pedagogy, descended from the work of bell hooks, Paulo Friere, Audre Lorde and many others.

Who we are
Peaks & Waves is a new venture beginning in 2026 bringing together people with a range of backgrounds and experiences.
We all have had long careers in learning for and with people from many different backgrounds and in many different spaces. Over the last 20 years we have trained thousands of people from communities in the UK and around the world, and done capacity building with hundreds of organisations. Our theory is rooted in our practice.
Lead Convenor - Anna Collins Nham
Anna is an expert in all aspects of learning, training and facilitation, committed to helping individuals and organisations transform through learning and facilitated group spaces. She's passionate about creating spaces that are accessible to all. She trained extensively with and for Training For Change in their direct education approach, as well as studying critical pedagogy more broadly. She specialises in the training of trainers.
Anna was Head of training at Campaign Bootcamp for over 7 years. Before that spending many years working on capacity building in the global climate movement. Now working with organisations around the world on learning programmes she has made a career creating spaces which actively challenge groups to put those at the frontline, and those traditionally marginalised at the centre of what we do.
Her belief in the power of learning is so strong that when not working with groups she unschools her three young children.
